Common mistakes for non-native speakers
- Instead of "I am a good driver": say: "One day a road was closed. I changed my route and called the office to update the customer". A real example shows how you handle problems on the road.
- Instead of "I know the city": say: "I plan my route before I start, and I check it again when the plan changes". Planning is easier to believe than local knowledge.
- Instead of "No accidents": say: "Before I start, I check the tyres, the lights and the load". A manager may listen for the checks you do every day.
- Instead of "The customer was not there, so I left": say: "I knocked, called the customer, followed the delivery instructions and recorded it". Following the process protects you and the customer.
