Google Interview Warmup: what changed, and other ways to practise

Short answer

When we checked on 3 October 2026, Interview Warmup's old web addresses sent visitors to a general Grow with Google article of interview tips instead of the practice tool. Some websites have reported that the tool has shut down, but we could not find an announcement from Google, so we cannot confirm that. If you used it to practise answers out loud, you can still practise with a friend, by recording yourself, or with another tool such as EnglishJobReady, which is built for people interviewing in English as a second language.

EnglishJobReady is not made by Google, is not connected to Google, and is not an official replacement for Interview Warmup. This page describes what changed and how our product differs.

What we checked, and when

On 3 October 2026 we requested the old Interview Warmup addresses directly. Both answered with a permanent redirect to a Grow with Google article about interview tips, which does not mention the tool. The old archive page redirected to the Grow with Google home page.

Some websites have reported that the tool has shut down. We could not find an announcement from Google, so we do not say it is closed, and we do not give a date.

What Interview Warmup did

A free interview practice tool from Google. Its old web address now opens a general article instead.

  • It was completely free, which mattered — cost is the reason many people practise alone or not at all.
  • It carried Google's name, so people trusted it enough to try it.

Ways to keep practising

  • With a friend — Ask them to read the questions and to tell you when they lost the point of your answer. Free, and good practice for nerves.
  • Record yourself — Answer one question on your phone and listen back. Check that the example is clear and that you finish with a result.
  • With a practice tool — Several products offer AI interview practice. Compare what they do on their own sites — our comparisons list sources and dates.

How EnglishJobReady differs

  • ESL-first: it is built for people who answer interview questions in English as a second language.
  • Support for early English (A1 and A2): you can build your answer first, sentence by sentence, with help in your first language, and try the full interview when you are ready.
  • Feedback on your English and on your answer together: how clear your English is and the habits of your first language (49 native languages), plus structure, evidence and role fit.
  • Practice for 22 interview types, from a phone or HR screen to a panel, technical, final or promotion interview.
  • Help after the interview too: waiting for an answer, a rejection, an offer, your first 90 days at work and a promotion interview.
  • Per-answer coaching that names one thing to change next, including STAR structure.
  • Country-specific interview norms for 34 destinations.
  • Full live mock interviews, a replay analyser and a cheat-sheet generator on the paid plan.
  • A free readiness check to start, with no card needed.

What this site cannot tell you

These pages describe what interviewers commonly look for. They cannot tell you what a specific interviewer decided, and nothing here guarantees an interview, an offer or a visa. Practising is preparation — it shows you what to fix next.
