Interview prep for Bengali speakers targeting Canada

Your Bengali → English grammar tells

Bengali speakers often use continuous tense ('I am doing') for simple present. 'I manage' not 'I am managing'.

Canadian interviewers notice these patterns even when they cannot name them. The fix is mechanical: read your answers aloud, mark every instance, and rewrite using short sentences and 'I' rather than 'we'.

How to pitch what you did in Canada

Interviews in Canada generally reward claiming your impact plainly: say the result, then say you led it. Hedging ("I helped with…", "we sort of…") can read as having less to claim than you do. Your evidence does not change — the way you state it does.

Questions you are likely to hear

  1. Tell me about yourself.
  2. Why this role / company?
  3. Walk me through a recent project you led.
  4. Tell me about a time you disagreed with a senior colleague.
  5. What are your salary expectations?

What this site cannot tell you

These pages describe what interviewers commonly look for. They cannot tell you what a specific interviewer decided, and nothing here guarantees an interview, an offer or a visa. Practising is preparation — it shows you what to fix next.
