Free interview tools for non-native English speakers
Free tools for people preparing for a job interview in English as a second language. Each one does one job — check a CV, decode a job advert, find the grammar habits of your first language — and none needs a card.
Who it is for
Everyone preparing for a job interview in English as a second language, at any level. If your English is at an early level, start with the CEFR self-check; if your interview is soon, start with the job description decoder and then practise out loud.
What it checks
- Your CV and the job advert, before you apply.
- Your English: a CEFR level estimate, the grammar habits of your first language, and the sounds that may cost you clarity.
- Your preparation: a day-by-day plan to your interview date, and a quick check of how your English holds up under pressure.
How to use it
- If you have an advert, start with the job description decoder to see the likely questions.
- Check your CV against the same advert.
- Then practise a real answer out loud in the free readiness check.
What it cannot do
- Each tool gives feedback to help you prepare. None can tell you what a particular employer will decide.
- The tools are separate: what you enter in one is not shared with the others.
